Gene Tenace played for 15 seasons but hit his zenith in 1972, when he became an unlikely World Series hero. This gold and green A's home jersey vest was worn by Tenace during the 1970 season when he hit .305. It has a "McAuliffe" label with a tag on the front lower left tail reading "70-42" denoting the year and size. The "A's" logo is sewn onto the left breast and the player number "38" on the right breast. The letters and numbers are green on white tackle twill. On the back is the number "38" in green on white tackle twill and the name "Tenace" in green tackle twill. There is green and white trimming around the neck and shoulder straps. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
