The "Iron Man", Cal Ripken Jr. was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007 on the first ballot. A two-time American League MVP, Ripken was a 19-time All-Star, has his No. 8 retired by the Baltimore Orioles franchise and was named to the MLB All-Century Team. On the inside front left tail is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag size “48” with washing instructions. Attached are three tags reeding “T”, “SET 1 1988” and “2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH”. On the left sleeve are the initials “EBW” in black in honor of owner Edward Bennett Williams. Across the chest reads “Orioles”. The player number “8” appears below and on the back. Across the back is the player name “RIPKEN” on a white nameplate. All numbering and lettering is done in orange on black tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
