Phil Niekro was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. His 318 career victories rank him 16th on the all-time wins list. In 1967, Niekro led all of MLB with a sparkling 1.87 ERA. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “42” with washing instructions. Inside the collar is a tag reading “Niekro 67-1” embroidered in black. Across the chest reads “Braves” in script style writing. The player number “35” appears below and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. A Braves team logo is on the left sleeve. Niekro signed the front of the jersey in black marker with the added inscriptions “Best Wishes” with a personalized inscription below as well as “Lead Leaguer 1.87 E.R.A. 1967 318 Wins” and in our opinion rates a strong 8. Mild staining is present throughout the jersey. Also included is a Wilson manufactured size “7 1-8” cap with the player number “35” handwritten underneath the brim. Niekro signed beneath this in black marker with the added inscription “66 - Gamer” and in our opinion rates an 8. This is the best example of a Niekro game-used jersey known.
