Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn used this bat to record the 2,814th hit of his historic career on April 30th, 1998. The Louisville Slugger manufactured B267 model bat measures 32.75 inches and weighs 29.8 ounces. The ash wood bat with a Gwynn finish shows excellent use with a hairline crack in the center brand. Several ball marks and impressions are present on the barrel. The lower handle and knob have been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip and there is a light coat of pine tar on the mid handle. The incorrect hit date “5/4/98” appears on the knob in black marker. The career hit number “2814”, model number, length, weight and Gwynn’s number “19” are written on the knob in black marker. The player number “19” and model number are written on the top barrel also in black marker. Gwynn signed the barrel in silver marker with the added inscription “#2814” and in our opinion rates an 8. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA grading the bat a GU 10 and an ALOA from JSA.
