Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig played their final game at West Point in 1934. In the game, Ruth hit a 500 foot home run over the right field fence and was the longest ever at West Point. This Taylor manufactured baseball has been signed by Babe Ruth on the sweet spot, Lou Gehrig, Lefty Gomez and Ben Chapman in black ink and in our opinion rate between 6-7. Handwritten on the ball is “WEST POINT June 11, 1934 7-0”. Johnny Messick was the assistant manager of the Cadet Mess Hall at West Point. This baseball was received directly from a relative after the game held at West Point from Messick. Toning and spot staining are present however the signatures display beautifully. Accompanied by a Full JSA LOA and a letter of provenance from our consignor.
