Roman Gabriel had an NFL career that spanned 16 seasons and was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1969. Gabriel earned Pro Bowl nods in 1967-69, and 1973 when he led the league in passing yards (3,219) for the Philadelphia Eagles. Presented is Gabriel’s 1974 Pro Bowl helmet which celebrated the NFL’s best players from the 1973 season. The size “7 3-8” suspension helmet features a single bar facemask and all inside padding is intact. The NFC logo decals are on the sides. Gabriel signed the outside of the helmet twice in black marker with the same inscription “NFL Pro Bowl Helmet Jan. 20, 1974” and in our opinion rate a combined 9. Mild toning, staining and paint transfer marks are present. This helmet is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and shows wear. Accompanied by an ALOA from JSA.
