Hockey Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux was immediately inducted after his first retirement in 1997, waiving the normal three-year waiting period and in 2017 was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players. Up until his unexpected return to the NHL in 2000, this was the final stick Lemieux used. This Koho Revolution stick was used during Game 5 of the NHL Playoffs against the Philadelphia Flyers. Lemieux scored a goal and recorded an assist in the contest. Stamped onto the shaft is “LEMIEUX” and “4/26/97 vs FLYERS 1ST ROUND PLAYOFFS LAST STICK USED IN CAREER GAME 5”. The handle and blade have been taped in black and the stick shows game-use throughout. Lemieux signed the top of the blade in black marker and in our opinion rates a 9. The stick is accompanied by a Lemieux Foundation LOA and a Full JSA LOA.
