Pee Wee Reese was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. The two-time World Series champion was a 10-time All-Star and has his No. 1 retired by the Dodgers franchise. This jersey was sourced from a minor leaguer who likely wore it for a tryout and is fresh to the hobby. Inside the rear collar is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag with a box tag reading the size “38”. On the front left tail is the year “53” embroidered in blue chain stitching. This jersey matches a 1953 Billy Loes jersey tagged the exact same way. We believe this set of flannels were only worn for a short period of time which makes this a true gem. Across the chest reads “Dodgers” and on the back is the player number “1” both in blue felt. Inside the rear waistband of the pants is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag with adjacent tags reading the size “32”, “32” Inseam” with a faded number written on and one with washing instructions. Below is a box tag reading the year “53” in red. All-original Reese flannels are incredibly rare, especially in this condition. Aging and soiling are present to the flannel but it remains in great overall condition. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
