Rick Sutcliffe unanimously won the Cy Young Award in 1984. At the time, Sutcliffe was just the fourth pitcher to win the National League award with a unanimous vote, and the first to win the award in either league after being traded during the season. He posted a 4-5 record with the Cleveland Indians, then was traded to the Chicago Cubs in June and proceeded to pitch 16 victories in 17 decisions tallying 155 strikeouts in 150.1 innings. Inside beneath the collar is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag size “48” with a strip tag beneath reading “84 2 48” embroidered in white. On the front left tail is a box tag reading the year “84. On the left chest is the Cubs team logo crest. Across the back is the player name “SUTCLIFFE” and below is the player name “40” both done in red on white tackle twill. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
