Grover Cleveland Alexander racked up 373 wins over a 20-year career with the A's, Cubs and Cardinals, tying him with Christy Mathewson for the most wins in NL history. "Ol' Pete," as he was known, was an immensely popular figure and this vintage Alexander model mitt was a must-have for sandlotters of the era. The soft leather, "oil tempered" glove was made with care, its pocket deep and cushy, the leather butter-soft and the laces are still firmly tied, though the antique look is unmistakable. The glove is in overall very good to excellent condition with consideration to its age.
