The 1961 Yankees, arguably the greatest team of all-time, have been canonized for their awesome overall power that was embodied by the famous chase by the "M&M Boys" to break Babe Ruth's record of 60 homers in a season, accomplished by MVP Roger Maris when he stroked No. 61 on the season's last day, after injuries limited Mickey Mantle to "only" 54. With 240 homers as a team, and with Cy Young winner Whitey Ford's 25-4 season on the hill and Luis Arroyo's work out of the pen, the Yankees dropped an anvil on everyone, including the overmatched Reds in a no-sweat five-game Series. This magnificent collage is an autograph smorgasbord of 40 members of that mighty team, including coaches, with each signature in a separate cut and all ringing a team photo in the center. Mantle's is a clubhouse at the top center on a postcard from 1984 commemorating his game-winning homer in game three of the 1964 Series. Maris' is on a pink souvenir card from Danny's Hide-a-Way restaurant, and the signatures of Bobby Richardson, Al Downing and Hal Reniff are on cards bearing their pictures. Other signatures include manager Ralph Houk, Ford, Arroyo, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, Bill Skowron, Tony Kubek, Clete Boyer, Ralph Terry, Hector Lopez, John Blanchard, etc. The display is preserved under glass in a 32" x 40" black frame.
