The New York Yankee dynasty of the last five years is built on clutch hitting and airtight pitching, and while the Yankees have had individual stars, winning was bred by a sum-of-the-parts synergy that is reflected by this set of four autographed balls from each of the Yankees' title years and which exemplify selflessness and unity. The core has been shortstop Derek Jeter, outfielders Bernie Williams and Paul O'Neill, first baseman Tino Martinez, pitcher Andy Pettitte, relief pitcher Mariano Rivera, and manager Joe Torre, all of whom signed each of the snow-white, near-mint, Official World Series balls, with Torre's on the sweet spots. The 1996 ball (28 signatures) also includes Charlie Hayes, Jim Leyritz, David Cone, etc. The 1998 ball (29 signatures) also includes David Wells, Scott Brosius, Chuck Knoblauch, Joe Girardi, Shane Spencer, etc. The 1999 ball (28 signatures) also includes Orlando Hernandez, Roger Clemens, Chad Curtis. The 2000 ball (25 signatures) also includes David Justice, Jorge Posada, etc. Signatures on all balls range from 8s to near-10s.
