One of the most meaningful of Michael Jordan's warehouse-sized collection of honors is the Victor Award he received in 1998 from the City of Hope charity foundation.The City of Hope National Medical Center is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Jordan received this beautiful trophy at the City of Hope sponsored Victor Awards for leading the Chicago Bulls to their sixth NBA championship. The solid gold trophy features a 16" high statuette of a man holding a wreath to the skies mounted on a circular 4-1/2" diameter black marble base, circled by a gold band that is inscribed "Victor awards XXXII, Michael Jordan, NBA Player of the Year, Voted by the National Sports Media, City of Hope, 1998." Jordan signed the top surface of the black base in silver marker, with the signature rating an 8. The trophy comes with an Upper Deck certificate of authenticity.
