If it’s a Ervin “Magic” Johnson jersey from the 1980s, there’s a high chance he wore it during a season where he received one or multiple accolades. Johnson won five NBA championships (1980, 1982, 1985, 1987-88), three NBA Finals MVP awards (1980, 1982, 1987) and three regular season MVP awards (1987, 1989-90). Johnson was named All-NBA First Team nine consecutive seasons (1983-91) and led the league in assists for four seasons. Johnson was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team and was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. On the front center tail is a “Tiernan” manufacturer’s tag. This tag is tinged purple from multiple washings. Across the chest reads, “LAKERS” and across the back reads the player name “JOHNSON”. These are done in yellow on white tackle twill. The player number “32” appears on both the front and on the back in white on yellow tackle twill. All numbering and lettering are sewn directly onto the purple mesh jersey. Johnson signed on the back player number “2” in blue pen and in our opinion rates an 8 overall. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Full JSA LOA.
