Michael Jordan began his legendary career at the University of North Carolina. With the 1982 NCAA Championship on the line, Jordan hit a mid-range jumper with 15 seconds remaining to secure the national championship. The shot was a preview into the career of what would be the best basketball player ever. Offered is MJ’s first professional jersey from the ACC All-Stars Basketball Classic. After Jordan’s junior year at UNC and before he joined the Bulls, he played in two barnstorming games. Jordan was paid $500 to play and would be the first check he would collect for playing basketball. 1,100 people packed into a North Carolina High School gym on May 26th, 1984 to watch the ACC All-Stars, led by Jordan, crush a local team 169-84. This is the jersey Jordan wore that day sourced from the tournament organizers. On the front left tail is a manufacturers tag reading the size “ADULT L 42-44” with washing instructions and an additional flag tag with jersey materials, the size and additional washing instructions. Across the front reads “ACC All-STARS” and the player number “23” appears on the back both screened in white. The jersey is accompanied by two letters of provenance from the tournament organizers that state Jordan wore the jersey in the game and “this jersey is authentic in every aspect”. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
