The St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series in 1944 making this possibly worn by Manager Billy Southworth during the 1944 Series. Southworth was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008. On the inner sweatband is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag. Attached is a partial flag tag that is unreadable. Under the dome is the manager’s number “30” in black marker. The cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager’s worn and in our opinion, shows heavy wear.
