This helmet was worn during his final season in Baltimore, 1974. Powell was known to wear flapless helmets for the most part but we have seen photos of him wearing this type lefty helmet with an ear flap with the Indians the following season in 1975. On the inner dome of this lefty is the “AMERICAN BASEBALL CAP” manufacturers label with size “7-3/8”. Player number 26 is written in black marker. Adjacent is the “Pro-Celd” sticker. There is a piece of inner padding missing. On the back is player number “26” painted in orange. Boog Powell has signed the outer bill adding the inscription “AL MVP 1970” in black marker rating a 7. The helmet shows nice use and is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
