This 14k gold boxing medal measures 1-3/4” x 1-3/8”, weighs 7 grams and was presented to amateur boxer Walter Pomeroy. The top portion of the medal features a banner with “2ND” hand-engraved in the center. The reverse side is stamped “VCO 14K” and houses the pin used to wear the medal. The lower portion of the medal features a boxer in the ring with decorative leaves and banners along the perimeter. Below that is a faded red-enameled “O” with wings, the logo of The Olympic Club in San Francisco. The reverse side is hand-engraved “145 lbs. WON BY W. POMEROY”. The medal is in NRMT condition and displays beautifully.
